What is Casts & Drafts? It's a 100% free event open to everyone in our community, whether you're a total newbie or a salty seasoned pro. Founded by local guides, we are hear to help with setting up rods, share someknowledge and help you perfect your cast. Doen't matter to us if youre just wanting to try casting for the first time or dust off your double haul, we are here to help!
What else is at the events?
We've also got a local fly tyer set up, explaining different materials, hooks, and flies. Also they have some flies for sales, but if you just want to sit down and give fly tying a try for the first time you'll be welcome to do that! With guides starting these events, we are all suckers for cool boats. So, we have couple of poling skiffs on site, which helps a lot when explaining how to have the deck set up for fishing in the grass. Or, if you just love boats as well and like looking at them.
Any other vendors?
Well yes, glad you asked! We have local rod builders that you can demo some awesome custom built rods, fly shops, reel reps, some clothing companies, and much more!
These events are not about making money from the community but more about helping the community learn the sport of fly fishing. That being said, any guided fishing trip booked from a participant is discounted as well! We believe fly fishing should be about sportsmanship, commrodary, and community, not egos.
